University Scholarships
Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club has offered scholarships to students from the Wellington area who have achieved university entrance status following their success in the Higher School Certificate exams.
The Club allocated over $20,000 for scholarship funds. These funds will be used to assist successful students and their families with various costs incurred due to university acceptance. The scholarship covers expenses such as accommodation while at university, cost of books, term fees imposed by the university, and the cost of computers as required under university guidelines.
Scholarships will be paid directly to the university or other entities such as real estate agents and student supply companies. Each scholarship can be up to a maximum of $5,000 per student and is available for either the first or second year of university studies.
To be eligible, students must demonstrate academic talent in their chosen field and express a willingness to return to the country area to work in that field in the future. The scholarship is limited to students attending universities located outside a 150km radius from their family home.
Eligible areas for applicants include Wellington, Stuart Town, Mumbil, Yeoval, Geurie, and any area with a 2820 postcode.
The scholarships have been appointed for 2024.
The scholarships will be available again in 2025 for students to apply for.
